In 1503, Leonardo da Vinci began painting a portrait of the twenty-four- year- old Lisa Gherardini. The great artist loved the painting more than anything else he had done, and carried it with him for much of the remainder of his life. Every now and then, Leonardo touched up different parts of the portrait, which many say he never considered finished. He obviously took great joy in the Mona Lisa.
That’s exactly how God sees us. We are His masterpiece, and He loves us more than anything He has ever created. He cares deeply about us, watching over us all the time.
In God’s eyes, we are all unfinished works, and He’s constantly improving us here and there, touching up one part of our life or another. He takes great joy in us and He’s even promised that He is preparing a special place for us, where He can be near us for eternity.
PRAYER: Lord, I am hardly worthy of your attention but I thank you for taking such an interest in me.
1 JOHN 4:10 This is real love not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve;
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked God for health. That I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy;
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy in life;
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among men, most richly blessed. *
Do we trust God to lead us even though we can’t see the pathway in front of us? Do we trust Him to be all-knowing, all-loving, and all-powerful? Do we believe He does all things well? As Paul wrote, “everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Rom. 14:23) That’s why God leads us through the dark places.
Only in darkness do we learn to walk by faith.
He who knows not. And knows not that he knows not. is a fool: shun him
He who knows not, and knows that he knows not, is a child; teach him
He who knows, and knows not that he knows, is asleep; wake him.
He who knows, and knows that he know, is wise; follow him
